Volkswagen Wins Autoweek's 2015 Best of the Best
Volkswagen has done it again. The Golf
GTI rakes in another award, receiving Autoweek's
2015 Best of the Best for the
revamped 2015 model.
Autoweek's 2015 Best of the Best criteria
include performance, fit and finish, economy, design, significance to
the auto industry, value and personal taste. The new Golf GTI beat out
the other finalists - Alfa Romeo 4C, Ford Mustang and Mercedez-Benz
C-class.
The panel at Autoweek found the 2015 Golf GTI's performance
and practicality fun to
drive.
"Featuring a choice of two great gearboxes, the GTI is an
approachable, practical performance car -- it satisfies on every level.
And the new chassis makes it a blast to drive on the track or the
street," reports Autoweek. "The handling is simply superb, with the rear
end happily stepping into safe, controllable oversteer. It's a car any
driver can have fun with. The GTI was also a standout because its price,
build quality and utility make it a flexible ride and a great
value."

In addition to winning Autoweek's
2015 Best of the Best award and
the 2015 Motor Trend Car of the
Year, the Volkswagen Golf family takes home the
North American Car of the Year for
2015.
"The Volkswagen Golf gains fuel efficiency,
safety and functionality while simultaneously costing less than the car
it replaces," said Karl Brauer, senior analyst at Kelley Blue Book, also
a NACTOY juror. "If the 2015 Golf signifies where VW is headed the
German automaker's future looks bright
indeed."
